Power Auras Exports for Enhancement Shamans

Power Auras Classic is, in my opinion, a must-have addon for every class in World of Warcraft. There are quite a few “guides” and “how to” demonstrations out there on You Tube which show you how to set up Power Auras for whatever class you’re playing. If you haven’t watched them, then you should, because thanks to its unique method of making you aware of events you need to know about, your damage/healing/tanking will improve. You can also bookmark this page, because this is a brilliant guide to using Power Auras effectively.

I have it installed and available on all my characters. As my Shaman is very much the flavour of the month for me, I’ve been playing with Power Auras Classic all the way to Northrend.

Power Auras Classic has a unique import/export feature which allows an existing Power Auras Classic user to share any power auras they’ve developed with someone else. This is done by exporting a string of characters which can be imported by Power Auras Classic (make sure you’re on the latest release) and – bingo – you have a new power aura available to you.

Very simple.

So, without further ado, here’s some of my Power Auras which will be enough to get any new Shaman started.

Maelstrom Weapon

This You Tube video shows you exactly what these Power Auras strings will do. There are five strings, one for each stack of Maelstrom Weapon. When the last stack appears, you have an instant cast available to you. Go! Go! Lightning Bolt!

Water/Lightning/Earth Shield

This is a simple aura that just puts a small shield icon above your character’s head any time their shields have expired. Once you see this, hit your shield hotkey to re-apply. Simple.

The next two power auras are for Windfury Weapon and Flametongue Weapon. These are temporary weapon imbues that have a limited duration then drop off your weapon. By adding some power auras, I can see when they drop off my weapons and can quickly re-apply them.

You can amend these two weapon auras to show for Rockbiter and Frostbrand quite easily. I never bothered doing that because I don’t use Rockbiter Weapon any more and Frostbrand is more use in a PvP environment, and again, I seldom use it. However, I have used it against objects that have fire resistance (fire elementals in Blackrock Mountain for example).

Currently I’m trying to work on a Power Aura for Shamanistic Rage so that if certain criteria is met, I am prompted to cast Shamanistic Rage as well as pop any trinkets I’m currently equipped with. I’m still trying to find the optimal set of circumstance to do that however. If anyone has any ideas, then add a comment and I’ll see if I can develop the power aura warning.

There is one other power aura string I developed because Stormshaper received the Death Knight’s Anguish trinket from a quest reward. Whenever this procs (which is quite often) it adds 15 crit rating stacking up to 10 times. When 10 stacks are reached, a small skull and crossbones appears to show that she has been granted an extra 150 crit for the next few seconds. This isn’t a class specific aura, any class that has the trinket equipped can use it. You may find it useful, you may not.
