Trinkets

God I love trinkets! You can never get enough of these things, they’re so damned cool. Some will give you a buff just wearing it, some will give you a buff if you use it, some have buffs that trigger on a hit. They’re crazy cool.

I never actually throw trinkets away. I have stacks of in the banks of my other characters. I’m developing a decent collection for Stormshaper too.

I left Borean Tundra and went to quest along Howling Fjord because I knew there were two decent trinkets that Stormshaper could use. After rattling off over 70 quests in and around Howling Fjord, she is now the proud owner of the First Mate’s Pocket Watch, and Fury of the Encroaching Storm.

Fury of the Encroaching Storm increases your haste rating by 44 when you equip it and also gives you the Towering Rage buff that increases your attack power by 280 when you use the trinket. First Mate’s Pocket Watch gives you the Quickness of the Sailor buff on use which increases haste by 140 for 20 seconds, and gives you an attack power increase of 88 as soon as you equip it.

I equipped both trinkets immediately so they’d be picked up by my Shamanistic Rage macro. Doing this will increase the returns from Shamanistic Rage when its popped. I also track the two buffs these trinkets give using Power Auras. The power auras export for these are included below:

The only annoying thing about these trinkets is their different cooldown periods. The pocketwatch has a cooldown of 2 minutes, the Enchroaching Storm has a cooldown of 1 minute 30 seconds. I have, on occasion been able to trigger both trinkets at the same time through nothing more than random luck due to my macro calling one as the other was active. I am now going to look around and see if there is a more refined process, other than putting the trinkets on my menu bar, so that I can invoke both of them purposely, to maximise haste and attack power for Stormshaper.
